Integran has developed Nanovate™-NV (also known as Nanovar), a low thermal expansion, very hard nanometal surface coating for carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) composite tooling. The Nanovate™-NV coating adds durability and lifespan to tools, reducing replacement and repair costs.

Nanovate™-NV Benefits:
  • High hardness resists scratching and manufacturing wear and tear
    • Nanovate™-NV has 5x the hardness of Invar and overlaps with tool steel hardness
  • High strength, high ductility material resists impact damage during manufacturing
  • Fully dense material (no porosity) ensures vacuum integrity
  • Lower thermal mass tool decreases cure cycle time
  • Lighter weight tool increases tool mobility
  • Compatible with machined or cast CFRP composites
  • Compatible with epoxy or bismaleimide (BMI) resins
  • Compatible with pre-preg or resin infused materials
